Description
This is a rare and striking photograph of the Chicago Century of Progress 1933 World's Fair by the internationally famous architectural photography firm of Hedrich-Blessing.Since 1930, the Chicago photography firm of Hedrich-Blessing has documented
practically the entire history of modern architecture in America, from the Prairie School and Beaux-Arts to late- and post-Modernism, including photographs of Chicago's famous "A Century of Progress" exposition of 1933. That exposition was this country's largest concentration of the European Art Deco building style, and Ken Hedrich, one of this studio's founders, was its official photographer. Beyond being a fascinating record of the architecture at this important event, these are truly great
photograph
s, evocative of the style and drama of the period.
I acquired a selection of original photos directly from Hedrich-Blessing in the early 1980's, and this is one of that group. The paper size is 8x10. It is unsigned, but guaranteed to be authentic. There is a little bit of writing on the upper left corner as shown, but it can easily be matted out without affecting the impact of the image.
Feel free to ask me any questions, and to bid with confidence. I will happily combine multiple photos for a single shipping price.
