    Description

Offering a new Fine Art quality print of a vintage hand colored Lantern Slide photo of Long's Peak and Glacier Gorge in Rocky Mountains National Park. It is a high quality reprint, unframed, approximately 7.5x10" on 8 1/2x11" archival paper, suitable for matting, framing and display.
Lantern slides were developed in 1849, just ten years after the invention of photography. Photographs were made on glass plates, then hand colored. They were placed in a Lantern Slide Projector and shown on a wall or screen. This changed photography from an intimate medium to one that was appropriate for entertainment or education. The slides played a vital role in the development of art and architectural history, making possible the study of objects and sites from around the world. They remained popular until the 1950s when Kodak introduced the popular 2x2" transparencies.
From the Fine Art Los Angeles Collection.
Your print will not have a watermark and will be shipped safely in a rigid photo mailer for its protection.
