Exceptional and rare c.1875 albumen photograph of the harbor of Place 15 de Novembre in Rio de Janiero Brazil. This wonderful image was the work of iconic pioneer photographer, Marc Ferrez (1843-1923).... Born in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, Ferrez enjoyed the admiration and sponsorship of Emperor Dom Pedro II of Brazil as he photographed cities, Amazonian natives, the people of Bahia and beautiful panoramas of the country. In many cases, his extraordinary images where the first ever taken of those locales. His work is important and has been published in numerous books. It can also be found in some of the world's most prestigious museums and private collections.
The photograph is matted and measures 6 1/4 x by 8 1/2. It is in very fine condition. The dimensions with matting are 11 x 14..... It is GUARANTEED to be vintage and not a reproduction or later copy..... Purchase with confidence.

I've been a collector of photographs, important documents and publications related to Native American history for over 35 years. I am not a commercial dealer. My collection mainly covers the period from early 1700's to 1930. The images (all vintage) are of various sizes and have been safely stored in archival museum boxes in a climate controlled setting and are in the same condition as when I acquired them....  Please let me know if you are searching for anything in particular and I will be happy to check and place them on eBay if available.
