OSKAR SCHMIDT-INTRNATIONAL MUSIC CORPORATION, 87-101 Ferry Street, JERSEY CITY, N.J., circa 1920's-1960's UKELIN Folk Instrument (AKA : Banjolin or Hawaiian Art Violin). Ukelins combine two sets of strings, one group of 16 strings tuned to the scale of C (from middle C on a piano to the C two octaves above) plus four groups of four strings, each group tuned to a chord. The instrument is made to be placed on the table with the larger end toward the performer, and while the right hand plays the melody on the treble strings with the violin bow, accompanying chords are played on the bass strings with the left hand.The ukelin measures 27 1/2 inches long. Serial number on back is 5203. This comes with its original International Music Corporation Instruction Booklet for ukelin, sheet music stand, bow and tuning key, This Ukelin is in very fine condition. Its original finish is fully intact with minor age checking, a nice shine and very little sign of use. It has no brakes, repairs or missing parts. Its original violin bow is intact, but bow hair needs replaced. Bow stick has minor finish wear and good working screw tip and frog. Also included is original paper work. with tears and original pick, broken. This was found safely stored in its original box. Twelve highly detailed photos have been posted for further description.
