Description
Travel back in time with thiscool old uke. Made sometime in the 1950s by the little-known B.W. Molded Plastics in Pasadena, California, it's a Mauna Loa plastic uke. Maccaferri is the best known plastic uke maker of that era, but this is B.W.
It's a typical soprano sized uke with a 13-5/8" scale length.
Cosmetically, it's in very good condition. There's a tiny chip on the edge of the headstock, between the first and second tuners. The top is cream colored. The back is marbled brown colored.
Structurally, it's in fine condition. It has no cracks or anything like that. Functionally, it plays quite well. I just put brand new D'Addario string on it today. The action is higher than I
like, about 4/32" at the 12th fret, but it plays.
It comes with the original box, which is sort of flattened. The box flaps are torn.
It's an interesting old ukulele.
