    Description

A march by Adolph Baumbach, published in New York in 1872, to celebrate the 1865 opening of a photographic studio in Chicago. At that ceremony, the march was played by the Great Western Band. The photographer was Samuel Montague Fassett, 1825-1910, and his studio was called Fassett's Photographic Gallery, located on South Clark Street in Chicago. Fassett is remembered today for his early 1859 portrait of Lincoln, considered one of the best, and the photographs he took at the time of Lincoln's funeral in 1865. Complete. Three separated sheets making 6 pages. Title-page, music score on 4 pages, last page blank. Approximately 12.75 by 10 inches. Several short edge tears professionally repaired with clear archival tape, otherwise in good original condition. For details, please see the attached photos.
